April 7, on the World Health Day a historic event took place - for the first time in the history of Ukraine one round table brought together officials, businessmen, public figures, athletes, doctors, nutritionists and the media to discuss the project “Healthy Nation - Strong Ukraine”.
The roundtable consisted of two parts. The first part addressed the issues of proper nutrition and the safety of food in the modern world. Top nutritionists and experts of the Ministry of Healthcare, Research Center for Preventive Toxicology, Food and Chemical Safety named after academician Medved L.I., Institute of Hygiene and Medical Ecology named after Marzeev O.M., European Institute of Interdisciplinary Research and Education in Hannover, Germany, as well as representatives of the media, public organizations and sports took part in the discussion.
The second part presented a national survey on the health of the population, voiced ways of interaction between the state, business, NGOs and experts to ensure rapid and qualitative reforms in this area. A need to create effective means of spreading information among the population, a motivational system for the formation of social responsibility in the business environment and the population, a culture of responsible entrepreneurship on healthy lifestyles and harmless food was stressed.

• Dorit Nitzan Kaluski, head of a WHO Bureau in Ukraine
• Vladislav Sila, head of the “Ukrainian New Health Technologies Centers” Association
• UNICEF representatives and others.
According to Health Minister of Ukraine Alexander Kvitashvili, to ensure a high level of protection of human health and create transparent conditions for business in the field of food safety, MOH of Ukraine harmonizes the Ukrainian legislation with that of EU and provides a system of preventive measures, including determining the parameters of food safety.
